five simple things #5
Five weeks in a row! I am not going to lie- I am rather impressed with myself. Writing this post each week is something that I look forward to all week long. I even have another post in the works! This space (the traveling notebook) originated with joy rather than obligation. Sharing snippets of daily life makes the ordinary feel more special. Hopefully there will be more to share! For now, enjoy this week’s five simple things.
White Rabbit. On the first of every month, my family competes to be the first one to say white rabbit. Whoever succeeds gets good luck for the month. The tradition started years ago after Mama Bear read a book (I can’t recall the title!). Sometimes we go to extremes to be the victor- blocking phone numbers, screaming in the distance or waking up early. I was able to get Badger and Mama Bear so I am hoping for good luck this month!
2. The Goop Lab with Gwyneth Paltrow. Before watching this series, I was not very familiar with goop and really only associated it with Gwyneth Paltrow and wellness. The bright, clean appearance of the 6 episode series intrigued me. It was interesting learning about the Wim Hof method, aging well and psychics. I am not sure how quickly I will be trying the treatments featured but I always appreciate learning more.
3. Nostalgic cds. Fox uncovered a massive cd binder containing all of our cds from our middle school and high school years. Artists ranged from Disney soundtracks to Beyonce to Dashboard Confessional. I’ve been selecting a few cds each week to listen to during my daily commute. It has seriously transported me back to high school and I am not mad about it.
4. Farmers Market. The weather cooperated and I made it to the farmers market with Mama Bear! We may have been cold due to not having the right coats on but we soaked up all that the market had to offer! Surprisingly we found some delicious looking lettuce, spinach and apples. I’m super excited to try my Paul Family Farms maple sugar in oatmeal, carrots and so much more! I also loved using my tote+able market tote that Mama Bear gave me for Christmas. It is absolute perfection for all of my farmers market finds!
5. Creating a wedding album. Badger and I got married in October, 2016. At the time, getting a wedding album was not in our budget and it was one of the few regrets from the day. I reached out to our photographer, Michael Will, earlier in the year, learned it was still a possibility to order an album and started saving. I received the first proof of the album early last week and my heart skipped a beat! I cannot wait until we can relive the day through the album (maybe even on a daily basis).
